Ooooooh. Your superpower is that you are a...

Purposeful Persistent Precisionist!

Which is really just a whole lot of juicy big words to say that you, my lettery friend, love to work hard and do things right.

And I know it sounds a lot like that other “P-word” you’ve likely had flung at you *cough*perfectionist*cough*…. but I promise you this is way better.

You’re the sort of creative whose dedication to their craft is awe-inspiring. Not only are you willing to put in the hours (and hours, and hours) of time to practice and refine your skills, but you inspire those around you with the beauty you create and your attention to detail.

You love the passionate, principled, dedicated artists who fill the world with such beauty that it inspires you to create your own.

You tend to love worksheets, and drills, and making sure all of your layers are named well. And creatives just like you are the reason we have beautiful intricate flourishes, precise block lettering with immaculate spacing, and traditional styles that have been wonderfully preserved.

You’ll spend the time needed to form beautiful letters that show up on the page just the way you imagined them in your mind.

Sometimes, just maybe, you’ll get a little judgey with yourself because your desire for beauty and precision is greater than what your hand can currently produce. Be patient and gentle with yourself my sweet friend, you are amazing even when you’re not feeling it.

You're probably pretty great at:

  • Creating beautiful, precise lettering.
  • Nurturing a consistent creative practice.
  • Consistency in general.
  • Seeing where you can improve.

And maybe struggle a little with:

  • Taking creative risks.
  • Stretching yourself to try new things.
  • Feeling a little overwhelmed by the high standards you have for yourself.
  • Letting yourself just play sometimes.

Now... can I let you in on a something?

I love meeting creatives like you.

Even though it’s possible we couldn’t be less alike when it comes to how we approach creativity (I have a tendency to make a mess, to encourage play, and to forget the technical terms for…. pretty much everything), I love your passion for creativity, your desire for beauty and expression, and the way you show up for your art.

In case we haven’t met before…  Hi, I’m Liss. I’ve been lettering since early 2014, which feels like exactly 5.78 lifetimes ago.

I started first with a brush and ink, then proceeded to buy all the pens I could get my hands on here in Australia (it was a lot, but also never enough!).

Then in early 2016, I bought an iPad Pro + Apple Pencil and downloaded Procreate.

I loved it, then hated it, and struggled to really get into it for a long time.

Now, not only do I own a few more iPads, but I’ve created an entire library of lettery learning content to share with other letter lovers.

If you want to dive a little deeper into who I am (and since your creative style is like mine, I’m going to assume you’ll want to do that just like I would)…. you can find me over on Instagram as Letter Lovers Club, and also my personal account.

So where to from here??

Well first up, I’ve had my magical tech machines send a copy of this to the email address you popped in just before so that you can refer to it whenever you need a little creative confidence boost.

And over the next few days I’m going to send you a few more emails sharing my approach to creativity, inspiration, and iPad Lettering Learning, as well as tell you about some of the ways you can work with me if you feel like we’re a good fit.

If that doesn’t sound like fun, or you’ve already read this page and realised we’re not a good fit, please go ahead and hit the unsubscribe link in the email you’ll have received.
